What Makes A Ragdoll Cat or Kitten So Special?

Amare Ragdoll Kittens-20200408 132918

Ragdoll Cats are an amazing breed.  They are by far the most outstanding companions in the cat family and even outdo most breeds of dogs in their constant desire to be close to and snuggle with their human companions.  Ragdoll Cats are large breed Teddy Bears with ultra-plush and super bunny soft coats and floppy mellow laid back personalities that make them the world’s best snuggle and napping buddies.  Ragdoll Kittens are very puppy-like in personality, following you room to room and wanting to be involved in everything going on.  As they mature they turn into the elegant lounging and snuggle flopped out lap cats they are so well known for so by a year of age you have your perfect companion.  The kitten stage is super fun watching the kitten’s clownish antics batting around little balls and bells or chasing a laser light on the floor.

Ragdoll Cats are unique because they are very intelligent and people focused and extremely easy to train.  Ragdolls can easily be trained to play fetch, follow voice commands, stay off certain furniture or out of certain rooms, and quickly learn to use a scratching post exclusively.  Ragdolls are also a very healthy hardy breed of cats with almost no health issues and most live to a ripe old age of 16 to 23 years.

Ragdoll Kittens are so much fun.  They are bouncy playful and energetic much like normal domestic cats so you get the full enjoyment of the funny kitten stage.  Ragdoll Kittens find toys everywhere and are especially fond of chasing laser lights around on the floor, batting around little balls and bells, and running and sliding across wood or tile floors while chasing the toy they are playing with.  After a couple months of energetic play alternating with long flopped out kitten naps a Ragdoll Kitten starts to evolve into the amazing floppy mellow and majestic lap cats this breed is so well known for.

Ragdoll Kittens are extremely easy to train.  When you receive your kitten he or she will already be litter box trained so you will just need to show them where there box is and take them back to it a few times during their first day at home to make sure they remember where it is at.  This is extremely important because your new kitten will be so excited by the new sounds, smells, and things to discover they may forget where that box was at.  Your Ragdoll kitten will already be accustomed to using both a rope wrapped scratching post and a cardboard scratching tray so they will quickly take to these in your home.  Most Ragdolls are so easy to train to only sharpen nails on a scratching post that very few owners feel the need to declaw.  Also keep in mind that the little plastic nails that glue on keep your furniture completely safe, keeps your kitty from having to go thru the painful declawing surgery, and they look extremely adorable and are available in most colors.  Request a picture from us if you have never seen them, they are too cute!!!

Ragdolls are very social creatures and crave constant companionship.  If you are not home with them most days they will quickly bond with the family dog or other pets in the home.  When you are ready to buy a Ragdoll Kitten and if you work outside the home or are gone most of the time your Ragdoll will need companionship, any other house pet would be fine or you can consider getting two kittens to grow up together.  We love to see two of our kittens get to grow up together so we do offer a discount when two kittens are adopted together.

Adding a Ragdoll Cat or Ragdoll Kitten to your home is an amazing and fulfilling experience that you and your family will never regret!
